Hello Buckingham Community,
We are in the home stretch now! Term 2 is officially over and we are starting a fresh new Term 3. I look forward to finishing off the year together as a strong community. Term 2 Parent Teacher Interviews have been requested by the teaching staff and will be taking place on the evening of March 16th from 3:00pm – 7:00pm. Second Term Interviews are intended for students who are experiencing difficulties either academically or behaviourally.
We had a very successful Winter Activity Day at Domaine L’Ange Gardien. The students and staff had a blast tubing and spending time together outside. We also had a great Spirit Day on the last day before March Break full of community building! Thank you to everyone who donated for our Friendship Breakfast.
Upcoming – we will have Dodie Payne the principal of Hadley/Philemon for a visit on March 13th to discuss the upcoming transition from grade 6 to grade 7; we look forward to her visit.
BES will be holding the Cycle 3 Debating Competition on Wednesday March 15th throughout the day. We look forward to seeing Mrs. Howard’s, Mrs. Brown’s and Mrs. Scholar’s class debate! We welcome Arlene Brunke and Donna White as guest judges for the day.
Grades 4-6 will be participating in a Culture and Climate Survey with Micheal Montgomery on March 30th. This survey is open to students, staff and parents and is completely voluntary. This falls in line with our AV/AB plan for the 16-17 school year; more information to be shared in a separate memo.
Here’s to a successful March!
